Women’s Knitwear

Women’s knitwear is how a tailored wardrobe becomes wearable in real temperature. Women’s sweaters, in our sense, are not weekend hoodies. They are fine merino crews, a silk-blend turtleneck, cardigans that replace a jacket, a polo that replaces a shirt, and a two-piece knit that can pretend to be a dress. The gauge is the design decision: thin enough for the office, warm enough for the walk.

Bordeaux, camel, cream, navy, black, wine, oatmeal, ivory — the knit palette is the same as the tailoring palette on purpose. A new sweater should slide under the espresso blazer and over the stone trouser without introducing a third story. That is how knitwear supports a capsule instead of fighting it.

The Camel Merino Crew is the essential. It does the work of a tee with the manners of a sweater. The black turtleneck is the second skin under jackets and column dresses. The oatmeal cardigan is the layer that lives on a chair and still looks like an outfit when you stand up. We prefer natural fibers because they do the climate work that polyester cannot. Merino breathes. Silk-blend sits smooth. Wool-cashmere in the cardigan is the softness you notice at the wrist. Care is part of the product. Fine merino pills less if you rest it a day between wears and use a gentle comb, not a razor, on the first pills. Hang cardigans; fold crews. A women’s sweater that is stored correctly will outlast the trend cycle that tried to replace it.
